Time to enjoy life? What's that?

I love this sentiment. It's a good reminder. :-) This is just a simple card layout using a stamp image and sentiment by Clear Dollar stamps, stamped using Memento ink and colored with Prismacolor markers. The corners were cut with decorative scissors from the dollar store.

It's been busy here. The computer has been tied up with our conversion of analog video into digital media. Can I just interject here that I love the Mac for this?! Wow, it's been so slick! We'd tried for years to do this using Windows and the PC but finally gave up and gave in. That was a great move! This has been so easy! The girls and I have had a ball going through the years of videos from when they were very small. Nice trip down memory lane, which explains in part why I've been scarce here.

I've also been on a self-imposed spending moratorium which has been surprisingly easy to live with. I have enough supplies to last me for quite a while! I've found that if I'm not shopping, I'm not wasting as much time online browsing what's out there as far as merchandise and new product, and I spend more time actually stamping. What a concept! LOL! Of course that's easy for me to say since I preordered the new Cuttlebug embossing folders etc ages ago. Hopefully some of those will be landing soon.

Ahhh, it's time to follow the turtle's advice and take some time to enjoy life. :-)

A couple of quick cards

I just love stamping with the Inkadinkado clear Mini Sets. They're such fun!

This first card was stamped using one of the Inkadinkado sets and Memento dye ink and then colored with Prismacolor markers. These inks are great with markers--no smudging or bleeding, and I didn't heat set them. Love that! I embellished with Primas and Robin's Nest Dew Drops.

For this card I used the scraps from some cardstock that I'd cut using the Sizzix XL scalloped card die. The scraps make great waves, especially when layered. Again, the sentiments and images were stamped using Memento dye inks. I'm particularly fond of the London Fog, which I use when I plan on doing some coloring. It's just a bit more subtle than stamping an outline in black ink. This time I colored with my Copic Spica glitter pens. I then went back over that and simulated some fish scales with my Sakura Stardust pen which added most of the sparkle that you can see on the fish in the photo. I'd accented the smaller bubbles with my clear Sakura Glaze pen, and added dew drops on the others. The four toward the bottom of the card are all faux dew drops--the ones from Michael's. The one near the fish is a clear Robin's Nest Dew Drop. It's just a bit smaller and doesn't have as high as profile as the others.

Ahhh, it feels good to be stamping again, even if I'm multitasking and doing laundry, too. :-)

Labor day weekend cards

I started this card for the Blue challenge on Wednesday stamper but posted a different card for that. I finished it today.

The main image is a gorgeous stamp by Olive Wimple that I stamped on matte card stock using majestic blue Versafine ink because I wanted to be able to capture all of the details. I embellished with some Prima blossoms that I brushed with iridescent medium. I'd watered it down a bit, but I think next time I'll water it down even more for a more subtle effect.

This next card is another one that's looking toward fall.

The main image is by Impression Obsession, stamped in permanent black ink and then colored with Prismacolor and Copic markers. I used marker paper, and it does make a big difference in how these inks act. They stay on top of the paper longer so that they can be blended nicely with the blending marker. The other stamp images are by Victorine Originals. The patterned card stock is by K and Company.

Ahhh, it's nice to have some extra time to stamp.
