As I was saying yesterday, arrows are not an element that I generally use in my cardmaking. I dug out an Autumn Leaves clear stamp arrow last night and decided to try using it today for my second try at a Wednesday Stamper Arrow challenge card.
This is very different from my usual cards, both in terms of composition and the way that I go about making my cards. This was much more free-form, but I think in the end it worked (maybe?), and it definitely was a challenge for me and out of my comfort zone.
This week's challenge on the Wednesday Stamper is to work with arrows. Now, this one stumped me because I don't use arrows often. I'm not sure I can remember the last time I've used one, if ever. Here's my attempt to work arrows into a card design.
The image is from I Brake for Stamps, though I'm not sure which company. I colored it with Prismacolor colored pencils and blended with my Goo Gone Mess-Free pen instead of mineral spirits, just for fun. The wrapped arrow is grungeboard colored with pigment ink and then stamped with that same pear image. I improvised the other arrows out of beading twine. The embossing was made with the Cuttlebug Stylized Flowers embossing folder.
There was no way that I could resist this week's Wednesday Stamper theme, which is trees.
The background of my card is an embossed trees layer made with a Dreamweaver stencil and accented with chalk ink. The stamped image is by Cornish Heritage Farms. I embellished with Robin's Nest dew drops.
I'm late getting to this Wednesday Stamper challenge. The theme is Purple and any colors that go with it. I've made an ATC.
The background is polished stone. The stamp images are by Stampendous and Memory Box. I accented the bird in the background with some Diamond Stickles because I thought it was getting lost in the branches.
It was time this morning to tackle a Wednesday Stamper challenge. This week is was very straightforward--use stars in making a card. Oh wow, I just realized that I did this in a couple of ways and I hadn't noticed. Here's my card....
This was made by stamping on a polished stone background. I used images by Autumn Leaves and by Stampinback. The flourish designs are the Autumn Leaves and the images with the faces are Stampinback. What I hadn't realized is that the face images look like the face of a "star", someone glamorous who's been in films or something. That was an interesting twist. My subconscious at work. :-)
It's a celebration of Valentine's Day on Wednesday Stamper. The challenge for this week is to create something Valentine related.
This started out as a full-size card, but I didn't care for the way it turned out. I did like parts of it though, so I took those parts and made an ATC instead. This is a polished stone background stamped with a Cornish Heritage Farm image and embellished with a Fiskars border punch, the Textile texture Cuttlebug embossing folder, and of course, a heart.
I've been getting back into card-making, and challenges are a great way to find inspiration. Wednesday Stamper is a wonderful site for finding a challenge. This week's theme is Asia. This is the card that I've made.
The patterned paper is Basic Grey Infuse. The image of the man is by InkaStamps and colored with colored pencils. The flourish stamps are by Inkadinkado. I embossed the border using the Cuttlebug Floral Fantasy embossing folder. The embellishment is Mizuhiki cord tied in a good luck knot.
This week's theme on Wednesday Stamper is to use mulberry or handmade paper on a card. It can be a challenge to use because they're so pretty and can be so delicate. I used handmade (but not by me) paper on my card.
This was a more subtle paper that I stamped using Versafine inks and Fancy Pants' From the Garden clear stamps. The dark brown layer is velveteen paper. I used the same underneath the lighter brown velveteen ribbon. The center image is by About Art Accents and stamped using Brilliance pearlescent chocolate ink.
I'd taken a couple of weeks off from challenges. I got back into them with this week's Wednesday Stamper challenge,

The images for the main part of the card are all by Non Sequitur. There's stamping on the large brad that didn't show up in this photo, but the design on it mirrors the letter "I" at the figure's waist. The background swirls are by Rhonna Farrer. Hm, this could probably be more grungy, but maybe it's okay for a first try. :-)

This is a booklet that I put together using my Bind It All machine and 1/4" white binding coil. These are chipboard covers covered with DCWV textured cardstock. The covers and inside pages were cut using a Sizzix diamond shaped die. The paisley is a die cut by Spellbinders. The stamped image is by Paper Impressions. The flowers are Primas.
This week's Wednesday Stamper challenge is the color, white. The first thought that came to my mind was snow, but I've had enough of that. I'm ready for spring. So here are some of the other images that come to mind when I think of the color white.
I think of simplicity, of angels and of lace. So here is a fairly simple card. The angel and the lace images are by Posh. The sentiment is by Jody Poesy. The wings are Spellbinder die cuts made from metallic Bazzill.
What a fun theme for this week's Wednesday Stamper--FOOTWEAR! I love it. I made a card and an ATC.The card uses See D's stamps by Sugarloaf. I cut out the shoe shapes, embossed them with Spellbinders texture plates in my Big Shot, and brushed them with chalk ink Cat's eye inkpads. The shoe sentiment is by Stampabilities.
For the ATC, I stamped part of a Dolly Mama's stamp image by Stamps Happen for the background and colored parts of it with Sakura Glaze pens. The tag was stamped with part of a Stampabilities stamp and also colored with Glaze pens, then attached with an Around the Block tagger tail.

I decided to do a collage card for this week's Valentine theme on Wednesday Stamper. The stamps are all by Time to Stamp. The coin envelope was distressed with Ranger Distress inks, embossed with a Cuttlebug folder, and then the embossing was accented with chalk ink. The embossed heart and the photo corners are Ellison die cuts.
Yes! It's another great theme this week at Wednesday Stamper. I decided to break out a couple of old techniques for this.This first card uses polished stone on vellum for Mona's background. All of the stamps are from Ma Vinci's Reliquary.
For the second card, I applied ink to a used dryer sheet (like a faux mulberry technique) and adhered it to the back of a transparency to give some texture to the background. I stamped Mona on the front using Stazon.
It's such fun to use Mona images!
I've always liked time as a theme, so when I saw that timepieces had been chosen to be this week's Wednesday Stamper theme, I was thrilled! Of course then I promptly came up with NO ideas as I sat at my craft table, waiting for inspiration to strike. *sigh* I tackled this again this morning. Here is my card for this week's theme.
I tried to incorporate not only timepieces, but timepieces as they've evolved through time. I used a more traditional pocketwatch, a clock face (literally!), a sundial, and an hourglass as my background images and tried to give the whole thing a bit of an aged look.

The lighter butterfly images were made using a Technique Tuesday stamp and Castaway ink applied to cardstock to which I'd applied Peeled Paint distress ink. The darker toned butterflies were Art by Moonlight images stamped with Versamark. The sentiment was also by Art by Moonlight. Art by Moonlight stamps, as well as a number of other gorgeous stamp lines, are available at Stamp Francisco. The winged people are by Time to Stamp.
This first card is a collage of images by Club Stamp (lighter gray ink) and Art by Moonlight. The ART stamped underneath the clear pebble is by Ma Vinci.
This second card uses stamps by Non Sequitur. I used twinkling H2Os on pink cardstock and stamped the images on top in black ink. My embellishments are Prima leaves painted with those same twinkling H2Os. There's a bit more sparkle to this in real life. You get a good idea of the shimmer from the leaves. This new set of H2Os had been sitting on my craft table for a while. It was great to get a chance to use them.
This last card is a quick ATC that I did this morning using some pink patterned paper that I had left over from another project. The stamps are all by InkaStamps.
